Title: Machpro delay when changing direction during machining
Post by: phil@highside.co.nz on October 17, 2026, 11:22:12 PM
Hi
I've noticed that during interpolating a bore, as an example, at each 90 degree point there is a momentary delay in the processing that is causing a minimal undercut within the bore.
This is with ESS as the motion controller and a well speced PC running Machpro.

Anyone have any ideas as to cause?

Thanks
Phil

Could this be due to running in Exact Stop mode (G61) versus Constant Velocity mode (G64)?

Yep, I noticed that the active modals showed G61 just after I posted the question.
My POST was not adding a G64 so I've modified it to do so.
I think that will fix it.
Cheers

Made the change and ran a test file.
All is good now.
I didn't expect that MachPro would not by default set G64
Cheers

I do not have a MachPro system to check, but I suspect that there is a place in your config where you can set the defaults for mode setting G codes.
