Hello, I am setting up a 6040 from scratch. My first hurdle is a question mark showing in the driver icon in device manager. Any one have any ideas what could be amiss with me or my system, TIA
-
How does your 6040 connect to the PC? USB or Printer port?
Regards
Charlie

Hello, I connect with a parallel port. Thanks
-
Can you post a screen shot of the device manager? When you install Mach3 It installs a Parallel port Driver. You may need to
Reinstall Mach3. What version Of windows are you running? and Is it 32 or 64 bit?
-
Hello, Win7 32 bit. Was a clean install from Mach3. Attached .jpg shows my problem, thanks
-
All I see is it says No conflicts. I assume that you machine wont move?
-
Correct the moto will not move. I have the question mark on the driver in device manager. I have put a parallel port monitor on the PC which indicates pulses going to the motor. The DRO responds when hitting the manual keys. The pinouts on the parallel port respond to the settings in Mach3. When applying a current direct to the motor it jumps, i guess just one pulse.

Can you try something? In the printer port properties uncheck the checkbox labeled " Use Automatic Settings" and see what happens. you may have to restart the computer for the settings to take effect.
-
Hello, I changed it and restarted but unfortunately nothing changed. Frustrating
-
can you upload you xml file?
-
Hi, If that is the .xml under my Mill Install this is it. Otherwise let me know where to locate it please.

The one for the profile your are using. let me brows through it and I will get back to you.

Also another thing to check is your parallel p[ort settings in the BIOS. You may have 2 options. ECP and EPP. If so then make sure your are set to EEP.
-
Hello, should it be ECP or EPP.
Cheers

EPP.
