Title: Stop button Z move
Post by: Shopmill on July 06, 2023, 06:28:10 AM
Hello there.
I'm new here so please excuse any improper worded questions or wrong sub-forum.
Also I tried to search for an answer to this question for a while now and didn't even come close to an answer, so if this is a duplicate I'm sorry but I *tried*

To my Problem:
When I hit the "stop" button on the main screen of Mach3 the machine stops the X/Y movement after a short while, then stops the spindle and then it moves the Z-axis to what amounts to "G54 Z10".
This can be very dangerous in my use-case, since I regularly have to set the origin on the underside of my work-piece.
So when I have a piece that's higher than 10mm the machine will crash into the piece with a standing spindle.

To my question:
Is there a way to change this behavior and have mach3 move the Z-axis to for example "g53 z-1" instead?

Because right now I cannot use the "stop" button at all when I'm working with a higher than 10mm material, or I have to use the e-stop if something is fishy, which is not ideal either.

Thanks in advance :)

Try setting Config. / Safe_Z Setup
