Title: Backlash Compensation
Post by: Agwelder on October 30, 2007, 10:30:09 PM
We have  two Series II Bridgeports, both with measured backlash of about .002" in the Y-axis.  Is there a way to compensate in Mach 3 for backlash?

Hi, Agwelder

Under Config, 9 Down "Backlash", Don't forget to enable it, Then OK and Re-Start Mach.

Do some testing to make sure it's cutting Properly, Try some circle's also to check it out, Been some issues over time.

Haven't used it myself

Hope this Helps, Chip

Thanks Chip,

We set up our Backlash comp. today.  In our test circle cutting we measured .0035 out of round with compensation off, and .0005 out with it on.  This really helped us out.

Also, shuttle accel on the general config page effects the way your backlash acts. Try setting it to .005-.01.
