Hi, will mach3 run with Apollo Lake J3455 or intel atom processors as found in the mini PC,s?
I am going to br using it with a bitsensor usb interface.

Hi,
I run Mach4 and an Ethernet SmoothStepper on a Dual core Atom, and have done for seven years. Before that I used the same PC and two parallel ports
and Mach3. It works fine. The only time I notice its lack of processing power is when I load a large-ish Gcode file, say 5Mb or more. Its slow to load and draw the
toolpath, but once loaded and drawn it never misses a beat.
I am going to br using it with a bitsensor usb interface.
Do yourself a favor and don't waste your money on that junk. Buy a European or US made board. I use an recommend an Ethernet SmoothStepper, but a PoKeys 57CNC is worthwhile
as are UC100, UC400 and UC300.

Cheers fo that info . I've used bitsensor plus UCboth usb and ethernet.
The bitsensor units I have found are excellent, for the money. I have a CNC Swiss auto type lathe which has been running 5 days a week for the last 18 months and has never missed a beat. I have used them on 2 CNC mills and a CNC hot wire cutter. The only issue I've had (once you take time to work out how to set them up) was a unit that was DOA, the seller replaced it. They are about £20 here in the UK and if you want a basic motion controller these are the way to go ,in my experience

I use Mach4 and have done for seven years, and Bitsensor has no Mach4 plugin so is absolutely no good to me whether it be good quality or not, nor
does it have anything like enough inputs and outputs for my new mill.

Sure but just because it dosnt fit your particular application dosnt mean you should slag it off. Im guessing you have absolutely zero experience with the bitsensor unit?
and your low opinion has been based on others opinions? well TBH after using these units I can only come to the opinion that ESS etc. are taking the piss with there price.
Really we should be encouraging people to use this equipment as it gets your foot in the door of the CNC hobby without breaking the bank.
Its not the machine ,its what you make with it that counts.

Bitsensor does NOT work with Mach4, it doesn't matter whether its $20 or $200 or $2000, it still won't bloody work.
My machine requires 16 outputs minimum, and 22 inputs minimum, or a total of 38IOs. The ESS has a total of 51, so its well used,
with a small margin. Can Bitsensor do 38 IOs?
My servos require a max Step pulse rate of 416kHz, and my C axis at full speed requires 466.7 kHz, can Bitsensor keep up?
Clearly Bitsensor does as you require and that's good news. Perhaps you could take some time to explain, or better still help, those
whom have bought one and can't get it to work. There is very little in the way of published information about them and no manufacturers support.
If I have an issue or question with the ESS I can go to the manufacturers forum and ask Andy, the tech guy who programs the ESS, or at need, Greg, the guy
designed and built the ESS. These guys have been in the business of designing, manufacturing, selling and supporting the SmoothStepper
form it inception 12 plus years ago, you can't beat that support.

OK firstly your requirements are obviously way above what the bitsensor can provide, we agree on that.
there is a very true expression "horses for courses"

you did this after not knowing what the spec or use I was putting the machine to (foam cutter), that statement could quite easily put people off trying one. you offered no evidence of your claim they are junk, so I assume you have non.

Your opinion is just that, an opinion ,and obviously not based on fact.
Here in the uk , I can buy 12 bitsensor units for one ESS ,now that is a major consideration.
As far as "ZERO MANUFACTURER SUPPORT" Ive never needed it, there is enough set up information on that website,
and at these prices if you have problem just buy another. If you need to rely on manufacturers support then the documentation, hard ware or software is not up to scratch.
Are you sure your opinion is not based on "CNC snobbery"

my opinion is based on the hundreds, perhaps even thousands of posts I have seen on this forum over seven years about such
motion controllers, RnR, Bitsensor particularly.
I wonder how many people have bought hardware including one of these cheap controllers and have not been able to get them to
work and departed the CNC scene forever as a result? If, as you contend, that we should encourage newcomers to CNC the I argue that a
'quality motion controller' is a worthy investment that would secure that outcome.
If you are of the opinion that Bitsensor is a quality product then good luck to you.

these crap boards could be in the 1000's, I haven't counted, but it is certainly in the hundreds because those I did count.

Nowhere did you say that, however if there not quality....then what are they?....your words?
