Title: Tool changing to wrong number
Post by: nc42 on September 09, 2021, 10:39:07 AM: quick question as I imagine I've managed to change a setting somewhere and dont realize it. I have a funny problem that popped up this morning where when a tool change is called it removes the current tool then picks it up again, starts and then changes the call tool number to the tool that should have just been changed to. It has been working fine for months..... CAM in fusion 360 heres an example of a tool change gcode

Under Tool Change Type you have 2 choices.
Could it have been changed?

there are two interpretations of m6 in Mach4.

The first and most common with hobbyists machines is that m6 t5, for instance will stop and install tool 5.
The second and fastest interpretation is that m6 t5, will stop and change to the tool in the tool changer and load
tool 5 into the tool changer for the NEXT tool change. This interpretation means that no time is lost selecting the tool
from the carousel to the tool changer and thence to the spindle.

The setting you are looking for is in the Control/Tools tab of the Control plugin.

there is an auction site here in New Zealand which is quite popular. It's a bit like Ebay but local to NZ only.

Some bright spark auctioned off 'a hot cup of tea'....and the auction was well followed and he got $20 for it...LOL.

No mater what I do it all ways reverts back to the wrong option. I can select the right option click apply then ok and open the config page back up and its gone right back to "tool on m6 is next tool" Any ideas?

Just want to say thanks. I just had this exact same issue happen to me. I found this thread, and tried first to just change the value in the controls panel, but every time I did it just reverted. So I found that my parameters.ini file was corrupt. Just removed that and let mach4 recreate it then all was good.
