Title: Moving from Mach3 to Mach4
Post by: RogerKJ on May 29, 2021, 10:40:00 AM
Hi Everyone, I have a working system using Mach3 and USS Smootherstepper. From day one its performed very well with no problems.
I will be upgrading soon to Mach4 and Smoothstepper ESS, Can I use the config setting for my machine in Mach3 to configure Mach4 and if so which files do I use.
Sorry if this has been asked before, its a big forum.
Thanks in advance.
RogerKJ.

I think NO. No profile copying or anything. Maybe screenshot your Mach3 pins and other stuff and put them in Mach4. Andy at Warp9 has LOTS of good info about setting up Mach4/ESS so start there. You're going to be eventually very happy, but don't get in the rut that Mach4 is Mach3 just updated, it's NOT.

Good luck,
Tom

OK Tom, Thanks for the reply, I was hoping not to have to go through the whole setup again, at least I know what to do this time.
Thanks Again,
