Title: network setup, and how to run G100.m3p file
Post by: gromit68 on October 11, 2007, 05:37:59 PM
setting up a g100 under mach 3....

in setting up the network, I assigned 192.168.1.100 to the pc.
when I ping 192.168.1.10 , I get the message request timed out.
the setup guide  indicates this to be a cabling problem, but I am using a brand new network crossover cable bought from staples, connects the pc directly to the g100.
comments?

also, when I try to run G100.m3p, winxp asks me what to open it with.
Huh? the setup guide makes no reference to this.

Did you place the G100m3p folder in your Mach folder and double click it? What version of Mach are you runnig?

I'm Currently using 1.84.001
I put the the file g100.m3p in the mach3 folder
when I double click it, windows asks me what to open it with.

Download the latest version of Mach please. Also, make sure you have Mach installed on your C drive.

same problem found with 2nd pc, but same cable.
wondows recognizes a network connection, but when I ping 192.168.1.10, I get the message "request timed out"
again, the setup guide indicates a cabling problem.

any other suggestions?

I have made progress here...
Now I seem to have everything up to snuff, except, when I start mach3, the g100 is recognized for a few seconds, then I get the message communication lost.
