Title: No movement despite green across the boards
Post by: ryounger on July 10, 2020, 07:16:57 PM
I am new to Mach4 and trying to use it to control a Harbor Freight mini mill with an Automation Technology CNC conversion kit. All boards, power supplies, stepper drivers, and motors show green or have current. In Mach4 the machine diagnostics tab also shows green output to the motors. I followed the PDF instructions from ArtSoft as close as possible. Despite this I cant get any movement on the mill. For some reason there seems to be no signal getting through despite the green status lights and current to the motors. I have tried to manual traverse through Mach4 about a dozen times. Any input is appreciated!

Hi,
what motion controller are you using, an ESS, a PoKeys, a UCnnn?

I also downloaded the plugin for the motion controller and have it enabled.

This is the break-out board: https://www.automationtechnologiesinc.com/products-page/motion-controllers/c10-bidirectional-breakout/

Hi,
is the UC100 selected as the 'Active Motion Control'?

How would I go about making sure?
