I just purchased a Denford Mirac from a tech. school auction. It's complete with the control box, IE power supply, drives, etc. I've been waiting on a reply about Denford's control software for a few days now which leads me to my question. Can I just assign which pins do what and assign high or low using Mach3 to get it to move, or would I need to do a rebuild on break-out boards and start from scratch?

After a bit more investigating I'm not sure it's a simple procedure or possible. The Denford control box uses a DB9 connector and a null modem cable, but Mach seems to rely on a DB25. I'm not sure they're enough pins available.

The 9 pin is serial and 25 pin is parallel. So Denford had a motion control board that is likely completely incompatible with Mach 3. You’ll need a Mach 3 or 4 compatible breakout board or motion controller. If you going to rewire use a motion control board with USB or Ethernet like a smoothstepper or other.

Makes sense, thanks for the reply.
