Hi guys!
Now i'm having problem installing correctly Mach on Windows7 32 bit.
On system info , the driver shows with a question mark and this means " not intalled correctly".
I've change combatibyties on Win XP SP2, nothing but the same.
I cannot make my cnc run! Use parrallel port.
How can i solve this?
Any help will be really appreciated
Thanks

Hi,
a couple of days ago you were asking about a Chinese USB board, now your talking about a parallel port?
Which one are you trying to get to go?. You cant have both running at the same time.

Different PC, different BOB my friend!

What do i need to install correctly?

Hi,
have you read the Mach3 Install Manual? In particular:
2.1.3 The Vital Reboot
You must reboot Windows before running Mach3. This reboot is vital. If you do not do it, you will get
into great difficulties which can only be overcome by using the Windows Control Panel to uninstall the
driver manually. So please reboot now.
If you are interested in knowing why the reboot is required, then read on. If not, you can skip to Sec

Hi
I did reboot at the end of the installation, but the question mark remains.....
-
Hi,
the reboot is required and its not actually at the end. Re-read the Installation Manual. You'll now have to dig the corrupt driver out manually.

I seem to recall a message here last week that the latest Windows7 update causes the parallel port to not work with Mach3.

Hi Craig!
I do reboot as the manual sais with no luck from the beggining !
Gerry, please tell me which SP need to be installed to W7 to work properly?
Thank you guys for your help!

Hi,
you might try the 'Search' function, with it I found this:
http://www.machsupport.com/forum/index.php/topic,6346.0.html (http://www.machsupport.com/forum/index.php/topic,6346.0.html)
There is, or used to be, a list of things you could do to improve your PC for parallel port operation. I'm sure if you spent some time
searching for it you could find it.

Thank you Craig, i'll check it and i'll come back!

Nothing happens at all! I had to install Win XP to make it run properly! I've seen many pc's running Win7 with no problem and i'm still wondering......why?
-
Hi,
I ran Mach3 and two parallel ports on Windows7 for three plus years without problems. Did you find a copy of he optimization list....it had about 30-40m items on it?
Anyway you've got XP to work. If you were really concerned you'd ditch the parallel port altogether and get a genuine SmoothStepper or UC300 or 57CNC,
not some Chinese rubbish, then you could use just about any PC and Windows OS you care to name.

Hi Cncman,
Did you remove the offending update (as TPS linked) from your Win7 installation ?
http://www.machsupport.com/forum/index.php/topic,37050.0.html
Tweakie.

Hi,
I thought the symptom of a Windows7 update was that as soon as you attempted to run the PP driver the PC rebooted. That is different to
what is described by the OP.

Craig, this is my next order! i know these BOB's and their quality. The PC is seeing the PP as well, but Mach3 cannot communicate with BOB! I tried EVERYTHING whith no luck at all! XP was the solution!
Tweaky, yes i did and nothing happens at all! I think Ordering from here and after is to order good BOBs and not cheap!
Thank you guys for your help indeed!

Oh, btw, is it normal for external PP card to be visible from the PC in W7 and not from Mach3? In windows system / hardware section- the pport was 2020 and not 378 or something like this! I mean was 4 digits and not 3. Was that the problem? Could this 4 digit be recognized from Mach3 in Pin and ports?
