Does anyone know of a way to get the A axis to just spin at a set speed and be controlled from Mach3 for on and off and setting the speed. I know just connecting it up to a stepper driver with a arduino it can be done, It's for a non technical person on the other side of the planet from me.
He wants to knock 30 mins of a tool path. doing a traces op in fusion 360 along the X then stepping in closer in the Y axis it will work, if I can get a simple way to get the A axis to just spin.

how about disconnecting the regular spindle. Then set up for a Setp/Dir spindle but hook it to the A axis driver instead. The wherever Mach sees a M3 or
a S2500 it would be acting on the A axis....if you don't tell Mach you're cheating I wont tell either!

The spindle is getting used as well, I am not sure if he has spindle control I will have to ask he's running a router if he has no spindle control that should work.

Hi dude1,
even if the main spindle were for the duration arranged for manual control that would leave the Spindle Step/Dir free.
In Mach4 you can have up to six Out-of-Band motors...easy!

He's useing M3, hopefully he has no spindle control I will see what he says he may just have to spend a couple of hundred dollars and get a stepper driver and a arduino to do it, if fusion had continuous this would not be a problem, its all angled surfaces so wrapping is out.
