Is it possible to key in the height of an object? The drag and drop is very problematic.

Have you read the manual?
The drag and drop is very problematic.
Not sure what your talking about.

I actually used the wrong terminology, I meant depth. To set the material thickness the set depth function is a drag and drop function which is very hit and miss. I would like to be able to just key in a depth to a known dimension.

Tutorial #6 in the manual is about plunge clearance, etc.

I know about plunge clearance. I need a more accurate way to define material thickness.

LC is what it is and anything I know about it is in the manual I wrote.
It's not like some other CAM software. See page 18 of 23 in the manual for my definition of what Set layer Depth does.
Thus there is no "set material thickness". I guess if you wanted to have something appear in the graphics one could have a layer
which would represent the material foot print and set that to a some depth below Z=0.
BTW, it must be accurate as you are the one telling LC how deep to cut a layer.
