Title: Is it hard to hook up and external temp guage to display in a DRO?
Post by: Tarak on June 23, 2007, 08:02:21 AM
Theoretically, I thought it could be done.
I'm told the temp guage I'm looking at has 3 wires, I haven't looked into what they are yet.
Thanks.

Yes,  You need to a Analog to digital converter, unless you guage already puts out digital signal.

I use a A-D module in a PLC, then bring that value into the macro pump, and convert it, and put it on a dro.

I think John, and some others using Peters board have done it in different ways, see if Peter will answer you.

You can also use a thermo couple module, but you still have to do the above.
