Title: Pokeys57CNC Driver Connection
Post by: Blaat on October 30, 2016, 03:05:10 PM
Hi all

I'm trying to get my steppers running

This is what I did
I have a Pokeys57CNC board
steppers with 4 wires
DM542A drivers from Longsmotor

I can see my Pokeys board in Mach3.
But the steppers are not running yet.
I think I did something wrong with the wiring from pokeys to driver

Pul + (+5V) to the Pokeys 5V motor connector
Pul - to STEP pin on the Pokeys motor connector
Dir + (+5V) to the Pokeys 5V motor connector
Dir - to DIR pin on Pokeys motor connector

I didn't connect the ENBL pins

I would strongly suggest to wire PUL+ and DIR+ to step and dir pins on the motor connector and PUL-/DIR- to GND on the motor connector.

Is motor hard (or impossible) to turn by hand?

Thanks! It runs!
Mach would throw a 'emergency button error', but I had to revert the stop settings in the pokeys configuration.
Only 'problem' now is that the stepper turns, but it turns only to one side, doesn't matter if I press the < or > arrow on the keyboard.

Check the DIR+ and DIR- connections.

DIR+ (driver) is connected to DIR pin (motor connector)
DIR- (driver) is connected to GND pin (motor connector). DIR- and PULL- are connected with the same cable to ground on the Pokeys Motor Connector

found it, made a wiring fault from driver to pokeys.
working fine now :)
