				Hi everyone

Well I purchased a PMDX 411 with Mach4 bundle thinking it would support 5 axis but it won't.  So I'm back to square one.  I love Mach4 so I intend to keep it but like Mach3 it won't support a 64 bit parellel port unless I'm mistaken.  If I am mistaken someone please correct me otherwise I need a solution.  Does anyone know of a parellel port adapter that will support 5 axis?

ESS and HiCON Integra are two that come to mind.

				Hi there,

I bought an ESS this year and I have already made a small setup with 5 TB6560 drivers, 5 small 1Amp stepper motors and 2 LPT25 breakoutboards. I've tried a 3 axis config and also a 5 axis Head/Head config, I had 2 sample pieces modeled in Rhino for both setups. The 3 axis works just fine, and the 5 axis simulatneous milling seems to work.
All the 5 motors XYZ-BC seem coreographed, but I'm not shure yet if this a real 5axis head-head 3d milling maching working properly. I'll have to try my Gcode on a similar machine to see how it responds.

The ESS is easy to config and has lots of documentations on warp9 website.

 Cheers!

We do not do kinematics (yet), so a gimble head is not possible.  But 5 axes with a trunion table setup is.

I've already seen successful 3d milling on Mach3 with 5 axis simultaneous milling

I have also seen 5 axis, using Mach3, demonstrated in a number of YouTube video’s but, in my opinion, it has not yet been independently proven to be sound.

The way (as Steve has said) has, I think, been demonstrated by Richard in this thread; http://www.machsupport.com/forum/index.php/topic,32107.0.html
