Title: Can Mach3 recover RPM drops?
Post by: Azalin on May 09, 2016, 10:13:21 AM
Say, I have a speed sensor and module that connects to the BOB and Mach3 runs the spindle regarding to the speed that is defined in the gcode. When the program is running and the spindle is dropping the RPM due to any reason. Can Mach3 recover the speed?

Sorry if this is a stupid question.

No, That's up to your spindle controller.

I thought so. The motor is an RC motor and the controller is an ESC.

Well, then I'll activate the governor mode on the ESC.

The BT30 spindle project located here:

Thanks

If your spindle is losing revs I saw some way of keeping them up using something called SuperPid, try looking for them with Google.

There is another not so expencive way a sort of DIY superpid, goto YouTube and search for "DIY Arduino CNC Spindle Speed Control"

I hope this helps
