Title: High voltage servo drives

any recommendations on 160 volt 25 to 35 amp servo drives. looking to change over a Haas vf1 would like to use the original power supply if possible.

HI DAS, is the Haas control you have DEAD ???  HV drives that will do S/D tend to be very expensive. Have you thought about using a S/D to analog converter board and USE your old drives. They are already matched to the power supplies.

Hi  3 of the four drives are dead  I would like to use the stock 160 volt power supply   if I can.  No big deal to change it  to 80 volts I need to. (I figured what I save on the power supply can be put towards the drives

You MAY be able to still use the power supply at 80 v  IF the transformer is dual wired for 240/480 volts. IF yo wire it for 480 and apply 240 you end up with 80v instead of 160v.

Even then the size drives you are needing to properly drive the motor you have are EXpensive . Might be cheaper in the long run to source out a used set of Haas drives or rebuilt exchange drives.

Have been using Larry's drives for about 6 months now.  My voltage is about the same (dc correct?) and my machine is probably slightly larger (more on the vf3 size & travels).
