Title: Isolation of Spindle Control - IP-A
Post by: Chaz on June 25, 2015, 05:26:11 PM
Hi,

First post here, please be gentle :-)

I need to connect to a Denford Spindle Controller, spec sheet here:-

http://www.sprint-electric.com/products/400-800-1200

Mine is the 1200 model.

Does anyone know if the 0-10V can be connected directly to a CS Labs unit? Does it take care of the fact that the DC Drive is floating at something like 90V?

Thanks

OK, so for the benefit of anyone else, looks like this cannot be done and you need some form of isolation between the floating 10V and the CS Labs unit. Despite claims by CS Labs that this unit is pretty much fully isolated, it turns out that the Analog outputs are not.
