Title: Parallel Port (Pin 8 & 9) No response
Post by: spitz2015 on June 01, 2015, 10:02:56 AM
Hello,

Recently purchased a Zenbot 4848 CNC Router and using MACH 3 both brand new. After a lot of troubleshooting, I have only been able to get the x,y,z stepper motors to work. I have been unable to get the A axis to communicate. There are 2 stepper motors in the Y axis to help move the heavy boom. Pin 8 & 9 are suppose to control the A axis according to Zenbot. I've switched the 8 & 9 pins to the Y axis motor (pin 4 & 5) in Ports and Pins tab in MACH 3 to check communication on the pins. The Y axis stepper motor does not turn. The A axis stepper motor does turn.

I've checked voltage on each pin and getting a 0.046 VDC from pin 2-9. Pins 10-16 get a voltage close to 4.5 VDC.

Could it be a bad parallel port or even a bad motherboard? Has anyone had this problem?

Thank you

Make sure you have A axis slaved to the corresponding axis and make sure you have them enabled in the home slave with...(I do not remember the exact wording)  I think it is the general screen in config about the middle of the screen
