Title: Parallel Port ID - Help Please
Post by: Fall_guy on March 07, 2015, 06:38:58 AM
Hi Everyone,

Could someone confirm which Parallel Port ID number I should use?

my address path is:     Device Manager / Ports / PCI ECP Parallel Port (LPT3)

PCI ECP Parallel Port (LPT3) / properties  /  resources.

In the resource window I have TWO   I/O ranges  and TWO memory ranges listed.

My I/O ranges are:  CCF0 - CCF7
                           CCF8 - CCFF

Should I be entering CCF0 as my Parallel Port ID?

Many Thanks

Hi Tweakie,

thanks for the reply.  Can I ask in my original post above.......... my Device Manager description detects my Parallel Port as (LPT3) CCF0

does this mean that ALL my port references in Darwin and Mach 4 should be set to PORT 3 ?

Thanks
John

No, that is just the PC's identification. In Mach3 & Mach4 you use (or rather set everything up as) Port 1.
