Title: csmio/ip-a encoder wiring
Post by: oldsmobi on February 15, 2015, 06:06:32 PM
I have mr-j3-60a amps (Mitsubishi) and a csmio/ip-a controller. I know that the encoder wire go to the amp input then to the controller from the amp output. I have got the six wires for the  A- ,A+ ,B- , B+, Z- ,Z+ . what I dont understand is where does the +5 volt and ground come from.

You do not need 5v and Gnd, they are there so that you can power an encoder if you have a separate encoder. Your encoder is already powered by the drive. You may need to connect the Gnd to the Gnd of the drives I/O but most likely you will not.
