Title: Retrofitting- MAHO MC600 with CSMIO/IP-A help
Post by: vvv310 on January 23, 2015, 09:38:36 AM
Hi guys,

I'm trying to retrofit MAHO MC600 with CSMIO/IP-A w/t Mach3 . The machine hasn't been started since last 8 years. It has Indramat 1TRM3 controller and 3TRM2 drives. Right now just breaking my head to figure out the circuit diagrams and connections. I have attached them.

I need to check if the drives and motors are working. Kindly help out here. How do i check. I had read somewhere we need to connect a battery? How many volts? which terminals on Page 8, 1TRM3 attached file, and Page 19 3TRM2 file?

Where do I provide the analog +/-10V from CSMIO/IP-A to (+15Vm, 0Vm, -15Vm)???

What do these stand and used for:
in 1TRM3 Page 8 -
E1A?
E1B?
E2?
E3?
RF?
P-PEing?

in 3TRM2(attached in reply) Page 19-
Both JF's?
RF?

thanks in advance

Attached 3TRM2 manual

Ok i got it,.. :D
E1A,1B input of +/-10V of diffrential.
RF control release- what is the max voltage i can give here, normally its 24V but 1TRM3's 24V is giving out 30V!. Scared it might blow an IC
Tried giving +15V but wont enable the drive

do you have the electrical wiring drawings for this machine?
it would help a lot to figure out what you need to bridge out and what power you need to supply to run the servo drive / motors.

Ok i have figured out the circuit somewhat from the previous attachments. Kindly correct me if i'm wrong. Spent some time also checking the drives.

1TRM3 Page 8 -
E1A, E1B are inputs from D/A +/-10V, similarly E101,102, 201,202,301,302. These go to a differential pre-amplifier. So I connected a small 1.5V battery to E1A and GND. I can connect to either right?

E2?E3? still don't know, these go to the TSS8 mounted module

RF- is Control Release, I need to provide (5V-30V), connected +24VL available on drive itself. Multimeter reads 29V :P

P-Eing? is this potentiometer tuning

in 3TRM2 Page 19-
Both JF's and RF are shorted? Pulse release and control release where i already gave 29V. But still nothing. Did with all three drives along with 1.5V. The switch d1 (bottom right in 1TRM3 pic attached pdf) with contacts Bb1(NC), Bb2(common), Bb3(NO) didnt enable. Tried shorting this and then also giving 29V at RF/JF still nothing, Red LED not Green

What am i missing. See attached pdf w/t pics and wiring in diagrams. Its in German though. Page 3 3TRM2 (7A1)

If E1A and E1B are the analogue inputs you would connect the battery to them I would think.

Hi
Now started with the retrofitting. Csmio ip a and mach3 setup done, but now the only problem I'm facing is the digital outputs.

For relays to activate 24v required but digital outputs are giving out 20v. Is it the same for everyone or just it's just mine

Hi,

are you sure that your 24vDC power supply is ok?
a digital Output is not "grabing" 4 Volts normaly.

by the way a normal 24VDC relay will also work with 20V,
but there must be something else wrong.

i'm using an SMPS with two 24VDC one to porwer CSMIO and other for digital output.  But outputed is 20.6VDC. the relay activated on checking with SMPS 24vdc but not through digi o/p.

Could your relay coils be drawing more current than the outputs of the IP-A allow?

Thought of it, but without any connections also default output 20v. Or if your implying that it's not activating at 20v due to current drawn?  Hmmm maybe

Were your relays the type with LEDs in them? I seem to recall mmoe having issues with relays of that type.

Why you only have 20v in the first place I am unsure however, if your power supply is outputting 24v then you should have 24v on the outputs.

The got fixed automatically overnight. Outputs giving out 24v but relays won't activate The relays don't have led, but your guess is right regarding current.  Any relay card advice

I would imagine most of the relay boards you can buy from the likes of eBay would be fine. I tend to use the Din rail mount type from Finder and they work fine.

Thanks for that advice, on rechecking found that first two groups of 4 only are affected, rest 2 groups are fine so probably the way ICs are gone.

Another problem is I have to keep adjusting DAC offset in PID tuning plugin   as the motor keeps running in some direction evertime on startup. How do I adjust this

If the axis drifts when Mach is started and the IP-A is in control then it is likely you have the encoder direction wrong, you can invert it in the plugin.
You should only need to press the button to adjust the DAC offset once.

Sitting with PID tuning, l have just not been able to do away with the oscillations. Attached is the parameters
