Title: Will Mach drive a Roland JWX-10
Post by: jwlrymkr on April 02, 2007, 10:40:06 PM
I have a friend that uses a roland jwx-10 gantry style mill and he is having some problems with the controller software that comes bundled with it. This mill doesnt use ballscrews, but rather it uses wires from the stepper motors to move the table and spindle head.

Here are the specs of the machine http://www.rolanddga.com/asd/products/milling/JWX10/default.asp?menu=SPECIFICATIONS&nxt=3

Thanks in advanceĀ  ;D

Well, it has steppers so I would have to say yes. Can you take some pictures of the mechanics and electronics for us? I know Mach can control it, I just don't know yet what all it will take to get to that point. He may be able to use the present drives, power supply, etc. If not, no big deal, just more money.
