Title: Need cadcam software
Post by: hughes674 on November 22, 2014, 03:59:08 AM
Hi There

I am a bit new to cnc and I have 90% completed a boxford lathe conversion to mach3. Does anyone have any links to any free lathe cadcam software. I am using NFS turn at the moment which is a great program but when I start building a program and make a mistake, deleting the last operation deletes the whole file. I can retrieve the file from Newprogram.tap and reload it but its annoying and time consuming.
Any suggestions would be great.

I dont think there is much out there for free when it comes to Lathes, in fact even paid for CAM is thin on the ground for Lathes when you compare to Mill.

I have used Dolphin in the past and it was good, still have V11 but I tend to use BobCAD now.

BobCad has sales from time to time.  If you like the product, consider haggling.  They have always been reasonable with me.
