Hello there! New guy with a 3501 mill running Mach 3. I'm trying to use the "Cut arc" wizard but I find that it's only working in metric. Even though there's a G20 in the code it behaves as if all numerical values are metric, so if I say G00 1.0 it moves the machine 1mm instead of 1 in. The question is: where's the bug? Might it be a pin config problem in the serial cable or is there something wonky in the program itself? Any help appreciated!

Hello,
where is the problem off the metric system (the one and only),
be happy that your machine is metric.

--Converting a buttload of measurements to metric is a PITA. Having the option is essential to saving time. And our faithful moderator wrote the wizard so I'm hoping he'll have a fix.

Newbie here, I saw a post on here for text to CNC, wondering if there is anything similar to that for cutting circles where you place the size and it gives G-code program. I use a CNC machine for cutting wood projects. Any help would be appreciated. Trying to make speaker boxes for my son, and I am looking for 11" circles.
Thanks

In mach3 there are WIZARDS that will help you . One in mind is Circle Cut. You program it and it produces Gcode to cut a circle.

Thanks BR, I'll give it a look. I am new at this and still trying to learn, they say you can't teach an old dog new tricks, well I am old, but trying to learn. Again, I appreciate the info.

If you run into problems just give a call here and someone will help.
Take your time to look it all over and try to understand the terminology. It can change form wizard to wizard.
Let us know how it works out, (;-) TP
