I have an old problem that has come back. Downloaded mach3 and Lcam today (sunday 2/18).
Ran an old part with minor charges and sent to G-code. LC did not put G41 or G42 into the G-code file.
Is calls for a tool change but did not add the offset Gcodes. they should be in there no matter what.
Correct.
-
I will have a look at it but it will have to be after Art is done adding the pocketing code.
Did you have G41/42 turned on in the posting options?
-
Brian I checked the posting options and yes it is checked. I even unchecked and rechecked it to make sure. Everyting seems ok except no g41 or 42. Here is the Lcam project file and the Gcode file.
Also Art what does R represent in the G81 code.
I keep getting R < z in line 8
You guys are doing a great job it is fantastic to have such good support
Sorry I got kicked out on the first try.
This would not let me send an Lcam file.
YOu might want to change that.

Hi, Psad
You also need to turn "Leadin on" on each line segment, click on line, double click on start point, window opens to set it?
Probably now this, just didn't mention it in your post.
Hope this Helps, Chip
-
nope that is not it lead ins are on and set to 25% circular
Wierd - I've had a problems with this before. Even set out a couple of posts.
-
Hi, Psad
Just posted some code hear with ver Msch3r2.0.049, LC ver 2.00.037, Posted G41's for me.
Is your lead-in = to or grater than 1\2 your cutter Dia. ?
Haven't a Clue, Chip ( some will agree on that)
-
Yes, I'm using .25 units (inches) and a .25" cutter.
I can't figure it out Still trying
-
Hi, Psad
Ver. 2.0.050 is on line Art stated it has updated LC in it.
O--well don't Now, Chip
-
New versoin defaults to plasma mode and cannot turn off. No tool changes like this, so I cannot check the G41 G42 issue.
-
Hi, Psad
Hear is the latest LC, even though it says, N20 (Default Plasma Post), It post's g42 for me.
I used the Auto In-side out-side option, with plasma un selected.

Seems to work Hear, Chip
-
I don't understand. It's not working here. See attached files.
First file is a work doc with screen shots.
First screen Lcam. Shows layer selected, and tool called out,
Second show posting options - not plasma, use g41/42 checked.
third is Mach 3 screen - shows file name, shows that tools data is there BUT
no tool changes, no G41/42, no peck drill cycle on the holes.
Second file is the output Gcode file.
Sorry guys i'me really feeling stupid at this point.
in general config options i tell it to stop at tool change.
-
First file
-
tap file - had to change the name.
-
Hi, Psad
I missed the M6 Missing, I had a tool offset in tool 0 Position, Still don't now why you guy's aren't getting the G41, G42 code though.
Thanks, Chip

Guys thanks for the updates.
It's now back to posting in Mill mode just fine.
Tool changs and drill modes are back.
Still not getting the G41/42 codes.
I suggest you add the ability to send you an Lcam file so you can work with exactly what I have.
Im sending you and Lcam renamed .txt. Rename it back and see what you get. Also sending the output gcode file
-
Hi, Psad
I'm sending you a Personal Msg, If your in USA PM me your phone #
Thanks, Chip

Ok guys i've got some more information for you.
Chip contacted me yesterday to help me thorough the issue. Work computer did not have lateste version so i downloaded v.53 chip had me check my leadins, changed nothing else posted code everything worked, posted with g-41/g42 correctly.
OK my thoughts they fixed a code problem all is ok.
#1 downloaded new .53 on home machine this morning and loaded the old saved Lcam file.
Everything looked good, leadins were set to circular and the same as the tool dia.
Posted g-code still no G41/G42. = leaving Lcam file open through all this.
#2 like yesterday i clicked on one of the leadins (viewed as circular) it colapsed to none (thought that was kinda wierd) but you may have coded it that way???. reset the leadin to circular and equalt to tool dia (did not touch the other leadin). Posted Gcode G42 was now included for that layer but not the other.
#3 went back to other leadin it alse viewed as circular and = to tool diam. again clicked on leading it colapsed to none in view. reset to previous posted code g42 now in both cuts.
#4 as test I went back to lcam and clikc on a leadin - this time it did NOT collapse.
Problem appears to be that leadins were actually turned off but still appeared to be on in the image.
I can send you the old lcams file if you wish to look at it.
been a wierd problem hoep this helps
-
Found another piece of the puzzle.
I wanted to save the original lcam file in case you guys wanted it so i saved lcam under new name. ( the original file is actually posted with a txt file extension a few posts up - if you change the extension back to Lcam - it's there).
Anyway shut down lcam and restarted, loaded the new file, clicked on the leadin and it collapsed to none. It appears that Lcam removes the leadins when a saved file is reloaded BUT still shows them on in the image. I suspect the reload which is a problem similar to drilled holes being deleted when an active Mach 3 file is pulled back into Lcam.
hope this helps let me know what you find.
remember it's not debuggin anymore it's step wise refinement
one last suggeston to Art can you make the mouse button sequence that zooms, moves and tilts the image the same ones as used in Mach 3 - some time confusiing.
thanks for a great product

Hi, Psad
When you load a DXF file in LasyCam it's your original DXF, LC only posts/saves G-code.
Under AutoClean Settings, check the Automatically Add Leadins Box, then LC will add them you will still need to adjust them tough.
Use the AutoClean Icon to clean the file up.
Let me now.
Hope this Helps, Chip
-
Chip i did have the auto add in of leadins checked with .25 units (upto .500" end mill) but this problem appears to come in from a saved Lcam file not DXF or TAP. I've been using that to save some work on the file already started.
Stil need to try it with a new incomming DXF file. I'll get backwith you soon
