Title: Machine Cutting Oversize
Post by: mikemill on May 10, 2013, 04:54:28 AM
My X3 is cutting 0.010" oversize, I have checked the kerrnell speed, done a MDI input X 1.00" and measured the movment it is spot on.
I am useing ArtCam Pro and has worked fine for years
Can anyone suggest what the problem may be?

Thanks
Mike

It can be due to a lot of things. It could  be how your defining the tool in ArtCam ...I don't know anything about ArtCam.

You don't say whether it's internally or externally oversize. A first guess might be (internal oversize) tool 0.005 oversize or (external oversize) tool 0.005 undersize. TBH my last guess would be kernel speed.

As I siad I have been useing ArtCam for years and nothing I do has changed, ArtCam has a tool menu like all Cam packages, you input the size be it inch or mm and it shows the size in decimil

Ian
The total is 1.00" as the part I am cutting is both sides, and new cutter, as I said the kernel speed is what it normaly is, that was the idea of the MDI test.

Typo, size should 0.010" must of been thinking about the MDI test

Problem solved, X axis slide gib stip was loose adjusted the screws so no slop in table and now cutting to size
Thanks for your help
