Hey there,
I'm new to LazyCam. It seems like a great program. But I only have one problem... I can't open dxf files the i create in AutoCAD. I tried opening dxf files made from AutoCAD LT 2000 and AutoCAD 2007 but it doesn't make a difference. I get a "MachManip MFC Application" error. Does anybody know how to fix this or know what I'm doing wrong?
Thank you for your time!

Make sure you save as V12 .dxf

Hey there,
Thanks for responding to my post so quick. I don't have any specific file that I am using. Every file I make in AutoCAD does that. I can still post a very simple one if it's any help. I'm saving it as a "AutoCAD R12/LT2 DXF (*.dxf)" file. I've also tried every other different dxf files in AutoCAD LT 2000 and AutoCAD 2007. I tried saving them as ASCII and BINARY format but none of them worked. Well here's a simple file I did for testing.

Hi, Dre
If the earlier version of A-cad, save as 12 or 14 DXF docent fix it.
Windows can cause problems if the Hardware Acceleration is set to High, It's sorta deep in windows, do the following.
Goto Windows Start bottom left bottom corner of your Screen, click on it, Control Panel, Display, Settings, Advanced, Troubleshoot,
Hardware Acceleration, Set it to None or second dot.
Mine is set to Second dot and I unchecked the Enable write combining also, not sure about the write combining been-a-while since I look at
this.
Dont forget the Apply button then OK.
Hope this Helps, Chip

Hey afn09556,
I tried what you said but still no luck :( I tried it with "Enable write combining" checked and tried it while unchecked. I hope we can get this to work because this program looks like a very handy tool.

Hi, Dre
You set the Hardware Acceleration, to None or second dot, a reboot may be needed after changing give it a try.
What is the speed of your computer and Memory.
Thanks Chip

Hey afn09556,
I put the Hardware Accelaration to none and it asked me for a reboot so I did it but it still doesn't work. Thank you for trying to help me btw.

I just tried it on my desktop computer and it still doesn't work. The desktop computer has the following specs:
Manufacturer: ACER
Processor: Pentium 4 2.4GHz
Memory: 1024MB
Does anybody know of a good free CAD program that's similar to AutoCAD that I can download and try?
Thanks.
Oh and i tried turning Hardware Accelaration off on the desktop computer but still didn't work.

Hi, Dre
The DXF file I sent Works for sure.
I'll think on it tonight sea-ya tomorrow Pm.
Try setting in windows, system, advanced, performance, settings, advanced, processor scheduling, to Background
In early LasyCam there was a DLL file that was missing that caused problems also, I'll think on it tonight, also.
Sorry we havent got you working yet.!! Thanks Chip
What ver of Mach3 and LazyCam are you using, Check under, Help, About

Hey there,
I just found out the problem lol. Well sort of anyway. I was using the LazyCam downloaded alone without Mach3. But when I installed Mach3 and used the LazyCam that comes with it, everything worked fine. I don't know if you're supposed to need Mach3 for it to run properly or if theres just a bug. Well thank you very much for your help and time. I really REALLY appreciate it.

Hi, Dre
I thought it was stand-alone, it may like the folder name Mach3.
Glad you got it working, Chip
