Title: pc can't see xbox 360 controller

My Window XP PC can't see my controller. Below are the steps I've taken to correct and nothing works.

What I've done and number of attempts this past week.

Download and installed the DirectX redistributables (twice)
Reinstalled the XBox360_32Eng.exe (3 times)
Entered the ProductID and VendorID in config screen (10 times)
Installed Latest lockdown Mach version (twice)
Updated windows from MS website
Installed plugin (3 times)
Went through every thread in this forum related to xbox 360 controller

Is this a wireless controller?

Not a wireless, I may need to go to a gaming forum and see if anyone can answer.
