I am converting a mill from an Anilam Crusader M control to a Galileo DMC-1830 PCI card. The original dc servo motors and drives are wired in and I do get digital read out. The Mach3 is talking to the Galileo card but when I turn on the motors the X axis holds position and the Y axis runs away. If I switch the motors with the drives the X motor runs away and the Y motor holds position. I have tested the servo drives and they are ok. How do I stop the motor from running away long enough to set up and calibrate the Mach3?
Thanks,
Paul

Sounds like the encoder on your Y motor is wired backwards. Swap the A & B signals and see if it holds.

Steve,
Sounds like a great idea. I will try it out.

Steve,
Switching the A & B leads of the Y linear scale encoder worked great. Now the Mach3 will control the motors.

Nice!
