Hey folks,
I recently picked up a batch of Sanyo Denki stepper motors.
Some are ... Type : 103-845-6741 12-300 V 6.7 A Stall Torque 3.4 Nm (Should be perfect with a Gecko ?)
I found gads of info on these, but cannot find any info on the others, which are:
Type : 103H82236540 12-300 V 9A 7.05 Nm
I'm trying to find a suitable driver for the 9A model. It's over the Gecko 7A limit so I suppose it would destroy the Gecko ... or is there a way to limit the load on the driver and use the combination anyway ?
Thanks first,
Russ

The Gecko's dictate the current, not the motor. Set the Geckos for 7 amps and your good, but you'll lose about 25% of the rated torque (7รท9).
Larken makes a 10 amp drive. http://www.larkencnc.com/motion/steppers.htm

here you go for the 103H82236540 Russ (page 22)

Gerry,
The Gecko set at 7a is no resistor installed.. Just wasnt sure if it was protected internally at that point or if it would fry, Thanks !
Thank you Ian, just what I was hunting for.. Perfect!
