Title: MILLING TEXT ONTO A CYLINDER
Post by: john_bry on January 13, 2012, 09:10:55 AM
Hello Everyone

If i have a vertical 4 axis machine,  (3 linear and one rotational axis mounted to the table),
what cam software would allow me to incribe or mill out text onto the cylinder?
The cylinder is held in the 4th axis.

So far i have been typing in my own g code for some simple stuff, but i dont see how i can possibly
do this without some type of cam help.

Thanks for input
Peace

Aspire will do it if you want to spend some money. There is also a little program called cnc wrapper that will simply wrap your g-code around the cylinder. A free trial is available at  http://www.cncwrapper.com/
