Hi I'm using a 10 year old Dell computer to run my Mach3 software through a standard printer port (25pin). Before I connect a printer into the system via a usb port can someone advise that this will not effect my connection between the computer and my CNC Mill. E.G Mach will not get confused when I try to print out a copy of any programs. Don't want to upset my set up which is running perfectly.

I have connected my printer and other things to the PC which runs my machines and never had a problem.
Using them when actually having Mach control a program should not be done.
Your pc may behave differently.

Since it is a USB printer, can't you just "pull the plug" on the USB cable to the printer unless printing? Better safe than ruin a long job. Windows frequently does strange, unexpected things.

Hi Jim,
If your CNC is all running OK then don't risk the printer connection.
Why not use a memory stick or something similar to transfer a copy of the program to another computer which is connected to a printer ??
Tweakie.
nb. If you don't have another computer - It's Christmas time ;D
