Post by: Kai on September 20, 2011, 06:57:50 AM
I have had a stange error reading after entering the homing limits screen.
There is a pause then "driver watchdog"

Anyone got any idea as to why this is comming on please.
A little new to mach3 so please be gentle with me lol

Some computers are a bit sensitive to the watchdog so if you go to Config menu then General Config you can disable it.

I just noticed this too for the very first time. It interrupted the running of the file. I was nowhere near any limits and see no reason for the file to have stopped? Do you know what it does? Btw, I did know where and how to turn it off which is what I did, but the bigger question is, was this a protection measure to help me?

It indicates the CPU slowed a bit from what I understand, Art has always said if you suffer from the driver watchdog error just to turn it off.

Could it have anything to do with the kernel speed selected during set up? I do have this particular profile set up at 45hz. It was done during a test and never reverted. I have since read but dont understand that it is to no advantage in performance. Just havent changed it back.

It could well be, another cause can be the graphics loading the system.
