Title: Surface Texture Question

Hey folks,
   I have this surface texture info on a print.
I understand the symbol, but do not know what the figures are referring to.
The print is all in metric, and is in German.  (partially translated)
I looked it up in the Machinery's Handbook (25) but the #'s just don't seem to jive.

Rz is widely used in Germany and elsewhere in Europe, in preference to Ra. Like Rmax, Rz is based on the evaluation of five sampling lengths. But instead of selecting the largest peak-to-valley distance of the five, it averages the five values.

Thanks Jeff, that helps ... but what does the " 6 " represent ?
Shouldn't that be a small value ? This is a very fine part, almost a mirror finish.

OK, I think the the 6 is micrometers (0.006 mm)
