Title: Posting gCode
Post by: kolias on March 13, 2011, 02:14:29 PM
Mach and LC are installed in my office Laptop where I learn both software and also in my shop where I do the cutting. In both computers I first load Mach and from Mack I load LC

In my office Laptop when I finish a project in LC and I say post gcode, I switch to Mach and the gcode is there and I can see my project on the display window. However in the shop computer when I say to LC  post gcode I get the message “No Mach3 found running”. Then I have to go to file open on Mach, select the gcode and open it.

I have re installed Mach and LC in the shop computer but the results are the same

What am I doing wrong?

See Section 6.2.2 Posting Options in the manual. You can save the g code to anywhere you want.
Notice the option of sending the file to Mach when posted if the box is checked.

The box is checked to Send File to Mach3 when Posted and the directories are set correct, just verified this morning and still says Mach3 is not Running but Mach3 is running

Not that important but just wondering why

Hi Nic,
Do you have Mach3 in the proper directory ?
 C:\Mach3

Did you install LC when you installed Mach?
Are you opening LC when Mach is open via the pull down?

Yes Mach3 is in the default directory C:\Mach3

Yes LC was installed when Mach was installed and I always open LC from Mach via the pull down menu

I think you have this registry issue.

Some people on the Vectric forum a few months ago were having the same issue from Vectric software.
Apparently, sometimes when Mach3 is installed, the needed registry keys are not.

Thank you both

Gerry I think I will install the "memoryoverride.reg" file and see the results

I will post back

I don't know what the memoryoverride.reg file is, but it's not the one I linked to, and probably not the fix to the problem your having.

Gerry you are a life saver.............

I first installed the “memoryoverride.reg” rebooted and did nothing

Then I installed LC alone (not from within Mach) and that did nothing

Then I installed the file from the link you provided and that did the trick. Not that it was so important but makes life much easier

Thank you both for your time

BTW the "memoryoverride.reg" is from the ArtSoft download section and I think is for people who have problems with Mack under Vista
