Title: Z direction problem
Post by: boggy1995 on October 07, 2010, 06:17:10 PM
Help!I have just purchased a Denford Orac lathe running mach3.My problem is when i set program coords on the end of a bar the x axis works fine but the z axis moves towards the tailstock when the program reads a z- value. My machine reference Z0 is by the chuck.I have tried reversing the z axis by unticking the z box in the config/motor home/soft limits box, however when i tried referencing the m/c it tried to go all the way to the tailstock and hit the z soft limit switch!!!Any help/suggestions
would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Rich.

Is it possible you hooked the motor wires up wrong?

I have managed to sort it temporarily by switching the z axis direction in the config/ homing/limits box.
