Title: G Code Problem or Settings Problem??
Post by: tnrouter on September 09, 2010, 11:37:05 PM
Hello,
New to forum...I am trying to rout some v carved letters. Designed in V Carve...then converted to G-Code. Two other guys have used the same G Code, bit size, etc. with good results. (They do not use Mach) It seems like no matter what setting I try (in V Carve) the results are the same. The bottoms and tops of the letters are "bellied out".  The G Code is attached as well as a picture of the test.
My thought is...the G Code worked for two others...but not with my machine.  Is something setup incorrectly in Mach....I am lost on settings.. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

TNROUTER,
Seems it's in the generated code from V Carve and I have no knowledge of V Carve. I would guess that if a straight line was in there like the pic it would clean up the bellies. Step through the code and note how the Z is changing along with the moves along the arc. It could also be a difference in your machine vrs theirs.

FWIW,
