Title: Turn Threading working at last

Thanks guys, threading in the latest version 3.042 032 is working great on my lathe, i had to convert back to index and a single slot
i have only tested it on a thread 35mm long and looking on a OGP CNC scope the pitch is only off by 0.008
for most applications thats fine.
I also did quite a bit of running between home and my friends house whom has Mastercam 9 and i managed to get the post sorted to post G76 code in Mach format
Feed back welcome  ;)
In the post it asks some info for the program header, the defaults can be changed in the post, from line 706 and onwards, using notepad or any text editor

I'm also working on a mastercam post for mach3 lathe, i have the G76 working but its not finished. I use a C0 micro lathe with a omron encoder (i only use the index signal for now)
and a smoothstepper.

You can use the threading wizard in Mach3 Turn with optional postings of code. Additionaly note that there are threading settings you can take advantage of for the cut & infeed type. See page 44 in the Threading On the Lathe write up which can be found in SUPPORT>DOCUMENTATION above or in the Members Docs.

Hmmm, I installed the latest version R3.042.032 on my office computer and was delighted to discover the Complex Threading lathe wizard. However when I install that version on my lathe computer that wizard is not there??

Any ideas why that might be?

Easy enough to put there, just look in the Mach3 folder then you will see the TurnAddons folder and in that a folder called  Complex Threading(Lathe)
Just copy that folder over to the same location on your other computer and start Mach and it should be there.

hi Hood,
I have installed 3.042 032 on 3 computers now and do not find the complex threading wizzard, could u please post the sub dir for us, or ask one of the admin guys to put it under the download section.

Think thats a different one Rich, I dont remember where I got the complex threading wizard from but have attached it here so just unzip to your TurnAddons folder and it should work.

Thanks for the posting as it has some of the features that neither of the other ones have and is is deffinately an update to the original one that comes with Mach. Don't you like the the Test button!

QUESTION:
Can you define the M34, M35,M36 cut type? Do they relate to Flank, alternate Flank, Back flank cutting?

INFO for OTHERS: The infeed method is just a different way of calculating the threading passes and info about it is somewhat cover in the Threading on the Lathe write-up. I will update the wirte up for this and also post the wizard in members docs.

They seem to relate to the Sandvik, Kenametal and normal G76 from what I see.
