Title: Does computer spec. affect output?
Post by: GVP on December 04, 2009, 01:59:39 PM
Hello,

I am running Mach3 on a computer that is, frankly, below spec.  My question is - does the spec. of the computer affect more than the speed - does it affect the quality off the router? I noticed a few tool marks on a some recent 3d output, and wonder if bringing the computer up to spec. would likely improve this?

Thanks in advance!

Try a little more ram,  It should have enough on the cpu. Some are running below specs with no problems.

My rule of thumb with computers is if the CPU is below spec, then run as much ram as you can.

Let us know if the extra ram works.
If you have to buy ram for an older machine it might just be worth the extra cash to pickup a used computer for the same price.
You can get a 1 GHz or better computer with 512 ram for ~$100. Check with your local computer reseller or Ebay.
