Title: What do you think of the Click PLC
Post by: gadman58 on January 16, 2009, 03:16:39 PM
Was looking at the Automation Direct new PLC for $69.00 us and it seems very close to the DL05.
What does everyone think?    http://web1.automationdirect.com/adc/Overview/Catalog/Programmable_Controllers/CLICK_Series_PLCs_(Stackable_Micro_Brick) (http://web1.automationdirect.com/adc/Overview/Catalog/Programmable_Controllers/CLICK_Series_PLCs_(Stackable_Micro_Brick))

Thanks
Glenn

Hi Glenn,
I just happened upon this post.
I saw the CLick ad just this week on the back of the latest Machine Design magazine.
I loaded the free software and tinkered wit ith a bit. Looks real good with a great help file.
I have one on order to play/learn with.
I'm sure it will do what I need.
Looks like no motion module though.
Thanks,
RC

I would like too but funds being what they are now, I have to wait a few more months.

I would believe that this is even cheaper than most BOBs and a second parallel card.  You could even have it take some load from the PC for simple things.
 :)

Thanks
Glenn

Hello RC did you get the click plc, if yes did you link it with mach through Modbus and what is your opinion on it.
I am making purchasing decisions on my Bridgeport BTC-1 I need sufficient I/O for my Tool changer. I thought this might be the way to go, considering I have a low budget.
Thank you in advance for any help,
Jaime
