You probably could make the servo MOVE but you will have ZERO control over it as the spindle output is constant  . It would be far easier to just use a simple solenoid to raise/lower the Pen into position.

SS ?? AUURRG I did not see that Sorry.

But to be sure have you tried it ??  I do  know that mach3 LPT if you do not use Spindle sync it will assume the speed that you programmed it for and base the feedrate on that value.

At least it USED TOO long ago on a planet far far away (;-) ,

OK another thought, when you program an S speed and you check it with the TACH is it the same RPM +/- a few ??

The problem with linear corrections is  the material will never be lying flat on the table and your torch cutting at the correct height WILL hit the material as it will be bowed being propped up on one side NOT linear .   EVEN with a GOOD thc it is not an ideal situation for Plasma cutting.

YOU are not using SUB program code so your question does not really apply.

I cannot see the Mcode script to comment on that part.

The way you are doing the coding you can apply the  o word order any way you want to as the macro I assume is redirecting the code from Mcode script.

If you remember me telling you , there are Dragons in the woods when you do things this way.  IF you change the order of execution you must also declare the return point as the M98 from  inside of a macro cannot do the return as Mach3 has NO idea where the return point is. Gcode and Mcode code run in different threads and each know nothing of the other until it hits the run QUE.

It only runs now because the order of execution is correct. Changing the  order of the program code without redirecting will cause KAOS.

Mach3 only does Step/Direction for axis outputs. You would need to convert the Step/Dir to PWM to drive the servo.
