General Mach Discussion / No response from limit switches
« on: April 22, 2013, 02:27:45 AM »
Ok, so I finally got a breakout board with individual drivers to replace my all in one 4 axis board. It all works well, the motors run a lot smoother, but for some reason my limit switches have no effect on the motors.
In the diagnostics page the input led's from 1 to 4 are lit, and when any of the limit switches are manually operated the led's go out.
Any ideas?? :-\

Good day,
I was wondering if it was possible to set up the computer so that as it boots it goes straight to the Mach screen. ???

General Mach Discussion / Plasma cutting with a MIG welder
« on: October 16, 2012, 05:43:38 AM »
Hello everyone, as I know very little about the electronics and principles involved etc. I need to ask you experts, is it possible to use a MIG welder for cutting in place of a plasma cutter? In other words make some kind of conversion to achieve this.
Thanks,
Tony

General Mach Discussion / Number pad Pendent nearly there
« on: December 14, 2011, 07:14:05 AM »
Thanks to everyone who helped me get this far, I am nearly there ;D.
I have set up the number pad, using the external buttons and OEM codes, and can now get all the functions you can see in the pic. I have a spare button because the pad I used has a single and a double zero button. So I thought it would be good to use this button to bring out the mach3 pendent thus not having to use the Tab key on the keyboard.
I have tried everything I can think of, but have come to a dead end. Has anyone any ideas for me please?

General Mach Discussion / Number pad Pendent
« on: December 07, 2011, 10:32:21 AM »
Hi everyone,
I want to convert a number pad into a pendent using the buttons as I have laid out on the model attached  ;D. I know how to allocate the axes using the hot keys, but how do I allocate the other buttons?
Any help or suggestions gratefully accepted  ;).

General Mach Discussion / Chinese Remote Controller
« on: October 28, 2011, 12:38:25 PM »
Ok, so I bought this remote contrller off of ebay ;D , I checked and saw that there had been good feedback left ;). It arrived today and looks really good for the price, but if the buttons don't do anything its of no use to me.
I plugged it in to a USB port and the power light comes on, but thats the end of the good news! I don't want to put it down because I am pretty sure that its me who does't know how to connect it up to Mach3.
I have done everything it says in the instructions, which is simply to plug it in and then re-config the hotkeys, but no joy. I would expect that it needs to be aligned with something in Mach3, but what?
Can anyone throw some happiness my way please, I would love this thing to work. ???

General Mach Discussion / Home switches giving Estop
« on: September 05, 2011, 03:06:20 PM »
I have finally got round to putting home switches on my machine, but have a problem with the X and Y axes activating the Estop rather than homing. The Z axis seems fine and both the X and Y axes light up the led's on the diagnostics page. The actual Estop also works fine. Any body got a clue whats happening? ???

General Mach Discussion / Noisy Steppers when stationary
« on: August 15, 2011, 04:36:30 AM »
Just got my little router put together and it works really well, but the steppers are very noisy when stationary :-\. There are no issues with torque, accuracy, speed, or temperature, they really work well, but if there is a way to quiet them down I would be even happier ;D.
Can any one help?
