Title: meshcam

hi all
please help i use solidworks to draw save as dxf import to curve cut then post to mach2  not a problam
but i need to do 3d and have meshcam i save files in stl open meshcam and then get very lost dont know if i have to post it to mach3 or use meshcan direct to machine
any pointers would be helpfull many thanks john

In Meshcam, you need to create the toolpaths. When they are created, a dialog box will pop up asking you to save the G-code. Use the Mach post, and open the g-code in Mach3.

does anyone know how to import jpg or bmp into a part say as background so i can impose on the face i want to sketch ie use splines
to draw then extrude them want to draw celtic knots many thanks donegal john

I don't know what system you are using but I use the emboss command to do that type of thing, I pick an area, paste an image into it, then emboss the image.

May give you some clues, it may not
