That said IF you could come up with a linear formula based on XY motion to position A then you might be able to make Formulas work in your favor.

I don't hink that Mach3 can directly do what you are needing for a robotinc welder and it cannot do Joint kenimatics so that you woul dhave world point jogging. Or joint kenematics so that when you rotate a joint teh toolpoint stays teh same.

You can however program all joint motions as each a seperate motion AND mach3 can symotanoiusly move up to 6 axis  .

Tangent control does its own thing assuming it has a full 360 continous control as it can continously rotate a joint without limits IF it needs to UNLIKE Gcode motion where SOMETIMES teh joint has to be unwound back to Zero. OR cannot exceed a certain angle and THAT would be controlled from CAM and the post.

Also for the most part Tang control is busted in several ways.

There is a reason MOST robots do not use Gcoded motion (;-)

Mach4 General Discussion / Re: Mach 4 V2 Windows 10

Yes Mach4 does not ship with an OS but IF you advertise that it can run on ANY Windows platform XP - W10 then it has to programed to except ANY of teh normal quircks found in ALL of those  versions.

OR simply pick a version you plan to support and STICK WITH IT. AND only recommend a version that you have FULLY tested/verified  to work properly.

General Mach Discussion / Re: Educational Sources???

You could do it ether way but teh drill is designed to do a controlled plunge cut, straight down. With a single flute cutter cutting ALUM they do not do a straight plunge well because of only having 1 flute. So in that case you do a ramped spiral cut in a circle that way everything moves in a very controlled motion for a single flute cutter in ALUM.

Cutting Alum at router spindle speeds can be a challenge because at teh spindle speeds of a router your feedrate will have to be very high .

For your MP ( Multi purpose) machine I would consider a Spindle with a seperate motor and a multi speed pulley setup. That way you can gear it for the best speed for each type of cutting.   You copuld have Super high for engraving, High for router and lower for metal.

Just a thought, (;-) TP

Actually that is an OLD plugin. I need to redo it like I did one for UCCNC.

Yes you do need to change your Post to reflect what you are doing with Scam. AND if you had the Feed/Speeds plugin for Scam then you would be set ?  :o 8) ;D

The PC is always going to be a PC and the Software that runs on it needs to keep that in mind. Everyone else's Controller software don't seem to have that problem.

Thee are 4 quadrants in CNC work based on X0Y0 being the point of origin.  Top Right, Top LEft,Bottom Left,Bottom Rightalso known as Q1,Q2,Q3,Q4.

Q1 =  X+ & Y+
Q2 = X- & Y+
Q3 = X- & Y-
Q4 = X+ & Y-

There is also the possiblility that you could work in 1 or MORE quuadrants at teh same time where there would be any comibinations of teh XY values.

MOST people work inside of  Q1 for a good reason. Being X+ & Y+ it makes the math VERY easy and very consistant. I suggest you do the same at this point. That would put your POE (point of origin, X0 Y0) at teh lower left of your work and NONE of your work extends out of that quadrant.

Things should make a little more sense at that point math wise.

You are still having a problem with ABS and INC values and how you are using them.  You have to keep the 2 values seperate in your head as each has to be treated differently when you use them to move somewhere. IF you are going to use an INC value to move you must be in G91 mode and IF you are going to use an ABS vlaue to move you must be in G90 mode.

Your % of a move move is still going to bite you in teh rear. You need to get rid of it and work that move  out another way.

Strip it all out but teh first X seires of moves, Get that part working correctly and it GOING to teh exact center of X EVERY time and EVERY position inside of Q1 THEN start adding parts back into your routine.  One set of equations will work ANYWHERE inside of Q1.

STOP writing to teh DROs you do NOT need to do that. IF you really want to know the value or 2000 or 2001 then learn to use the built in Var monitor.

Also remember that WHERE you stop with G31 is NOT teh same as #2000,#2002.
