General Mach Discussion / NPN Proxy switch help
« on: November 19, 2006, 08:25:41 AM »
Hi All,

This Boxford I am converting has NPN proxy switches for homing, they work at 24VDC black and brown are power and blue is signal.

My question is this can I connect them direct to an input or do I need to convert the signal in some way?

Thanks
Graham.

Hi brian,

Setting so far

X 800 pulses/mm 1500 vel 150 acc
Y 800                 1200     150
Z 880                  1000     75

Jogging is fine, just cant get it to rapid without stalling, I have tried all sorts of combinations without any luck.

Hi all

I have just got this boxford running on stepper motors, never used them before its always been servos.

my question is this :-

if I can jog at 750 units/min why wont it rapid at that under G00 command?, it stalls out

Download the latest version of mach R2.0.009 and install it.

To do screen grabs download screenhunter from this link, free version.

Hi Keith,

always image the tool is moving not the table, then you can use the right hand rule.

Stand in front of the machine with the X axis moving left to right in front of you.

Poke your right thumb to the right (X) your first finger away from you (Y) and your second finger up (Z),  these are all your PLUS movements.

I hope this is what you meant.

Graham.
