Mach4 General Discussion / Re: Mach 4 Bug Reports
« on: May 06, 2014, 11:56:29 AM »
Hiya Steve,  I noticed that the comments do not follow the line order in the gcode window. It will flush all the comments  to the status bar and you never get to see them in order of operation. You can see that they all got displayed from the history window.  Is there any way to lock them to the Gcode line being ran ?

Mach4 General Discussion / Viewing #var values
« on: May 06, 2014, 01:03:10 AM »
Is there anyway to view a #var value ? or a system #var for that matter. Can the Value be written to the status bar ??

In mach3 we had a Var monitor and I had a VarValue report I could run to check on things.

Can we generate a #3000 error in Mach4 and it stop the program with message ? or feedhold?

Just a thought, (;-) TP

As to the quirky toolpath as long as I do not jump around back and forth between Abs and Inc IJs it has NOT acted up again.

The Code processing is VERY fast compared to Mach3 it can load a file in a blink compared to Mach3.       NICE(;-)

I have a cam grinding program somewhere that takes a full 60 sec to load in mach3 and processes over a million lines of code. IF I can find it I will try it in mach4.  It will run proper in Mach3 just takes a very long time to calculate and display the toolpath.

NOW if it could actually MOVE a machine . I am running out of picture shows to watch.

HIYA Steve,  I noticed that when you cut and paste from the gcode editor it does not always hold the CUT in the buffer and when you leave the Editor to paste it somewhere else the paste is EMPTY. Quirk ?? or made that way ??

Would it be possible in teh Gcode editor to have it ADD a "Newline" when you exit ??? This still gets a lot of newbies.

Just a thought, (;-) TP

HIYA Steve I found the problem on this end. THAT code did not work here either BUT using an old MAch3 trick(reboot the PC) solved the problem here.

THis is what I saw no matter what code I ran. When it ran through post testing and drawing the toolpath this is what displayed.  Something gets stuck and I have seen this many times in testing now. You can see the IJKs ran amuck somehow like there were in the wrong mode and drawing crop circles.

OK I moves all vars up into the 100 range AND tried it in the 1000 range same problem.

Also simple testing show that Mach4 is perfectly happy using the G65 local vars in global applications. IS it suppose to or NOT ?

#1 =10
G0 X#1

There is not an error and the code runs fine.

I happy to se that G1 X- #1 is a legal call now instead of having to resolve the NEG direction from inside the variable G1 X[0-#1]. Both are excepted now.

HIYA Steve here is an example of a sub that fails in Mach4 but runs perfect in Mach3.

I had another that would not run yesterday no matter what I did BUT today it ran fine  from the get go.

Looking at THIS program and how Mach4 displays the toolpath it seems Mach4 is having a bit of trouble with G18/19 and IJKs

If you need to see HOW it SHOULD be look at it in Mach3. It is making a hemisphere for a ball in cube routine.

Thanks, (;-) TP
