HELLO bit of a wild card ..but i am running a romax wd1 for a friend he know zero about ...i managed to get all axis responding and have the xml from romax ..its in inch mach is set to inch steps are set to recommended 5300 ...its a closed loop that has two parrallel ports but im only using one at the mo no spindle attached as yet *ihave it
the problem is that when i jog from the ui or the keyoard everything is ok except the minus x which goes positive for about an inch then goes negative at first i thought it may be motor tuning but the other axis are fine z and y are smooth no grinding ...im thinking the xml may be corrupted but i cant get any joy from romax they dont accept my emails ...any suggestions would be gratefully recieve ..thanks

What happens if you use MDI, enter this code and see if it works right:-
Enter in MDI and press enter,
G01 G91 X2. F5.
Then try,
G01 G91 X-2. F5.

ok well i tried a square pocket for simplicity and knowing that it will go once in each irection its not incremental mode nor absolute as it does the same in either the code is clean and simple so im thinking it could either be the motor or the gecko drive ..im thinking of swaping the drives x and y to clarify that.and for some strange reason x is in y anyway which i dont like ..one thing i dont know that is puzzling me is that there is a distinct clicking sound i presume is comming fro the gecko drives ? do gecko drives click ? or perhaps a relay thats on its way out ? other than that im inclined to replace the entire drive chain with standard steppers and a different bob ..perhaps
