if it is an optical sensor, i think there should be an external power supply (5V) somewhere.
is there no Manual of the Controller box?

1062
normaly first Thing is to figure out how they are wired to your Controller/ parallel port.
on the Picture you posted i can't se any wiring at all??!

and after the wiring is clear in Config -> Ports&Pins -> Inputs

hello, i think your Problem is the power supply, just deconnect your 4th axis (Motor) and try again.

Hallo, ich denke das Problem liegt an dem Netzteil, einfach mal die 4te Achse abklemmen (Motor) und dann noch mal probieren.

Ok, so if I move my Z all the way up, there is no change in the diagnostic screen

so check your Limit Switch für z-axis

Yes, as the Z moves up, the numbers increase positive

thant is ok

In diagnostic screen, if I press z (picture yellow circle) it moves down

then Change Config -> Homing/Limits -> z-axis -> Home Neg.

orange/black is the com of all Switches, and for switching Inputs at a parallel port they Need to be taken to gnd.

White- 3 pin ( mpg B+ )
Config -> Ports&Pins -> Encoder/MPS -> MPG1 Enabled | A-Port = 2 | A-Pin = 2 | B-Port = 2 | B-Pin = 3

Green&black- 1 pin ( jog on led +5v )
White&black- gnd ( jog on led gnd)

 this is only the led, we will take care later

Yellow- 4 pin ( select x axis )

this is wrong, Needs to be connected to GND

1068
and as ZASTo sayed

GND from outside source and GND of your Parallel port should be connected pin 18-25
